Cored wicks have a material in their core that keeps the wick straight in candles that have deep melt pools. That means container candles, but also pillars, votives and novelty candles. Wicks can be bought raw or waxed, by foot or already cut for specific candle sizes.

You will need a steel ruler, a craft knife and a cutting mat that has a grid on it. Cut a strip of paper 1cm x 2cm. Lay the strip onto the mat so that it fits into the grid. Lay your ruler across it from the midpoint of the top edge to one bottom corner. Fold up the triangle of paper. Next repeat the process on the opposite side to make a folded corner. Press the folds down well. Cut a triangle of double sided tape and stick it to the folded paper triangle to close the gap. Repeat this process for as many photo corners as you need.

Now we are going to handle the ribbon. First, you can cut the ribbon about 1 inch longer than the needed length. Tape one of its ends on the center of the top of the gift box. Then, you should bring the other end so both of the ends meet in center of the top of the box, and tape it to make it stick on its place. Make a crossed ribbon by repeating the same steps on with your second ribbon.

Sew the bottom edge, again using a half-inch seam allowance, making sure to leave three inches unstitched. Clip all corners then turn the curtain so that the right sides of the fabric are facing out, utilizing the three inch unstitched opening. Make sure the corners are pushed out so that they look crisp then close the bottom opening by using a slip-stitch. Sew straight across the top of the panel, one half inch from the top. Measure down an additional two inches, and again sew straight. Then, measure down another one and a half inches and sew straight across again, forming the rod double sided tapes pocket. Repeat the process to sew the other curtain panel. Iron the curtains, hang them on the rod, and enjoy.
